Hi there Garry Maddran. Great to see you on the site, I have emailed you but maybe it got lost somewhere. I will try to email you again in the next day or so. Also, hi to Paul McDermott, and I'm still waiting for that beer you owe me. And a big hello to anyone else out there remembers me.

Hi to anyone who knows me - just rejoined after a couple of years away, always love reading the site comments, brings it all back - spent most of my time avoiding lessons and prep by playing sport notably 1st X1 on sunday mornings or at festivals or the basketball squad. I have fond memories of our all conquering Caernarvon fifth year sides particularly my strike partner Trevor Stubbs - did he ever make it as a pro ? Have just remembered that joining the choir got you first choice for evening meal in Balmoral dining room and then got you out of prep, although you did have to go through the Pauluskirche performance experience. Must try and make on of these reunions.

Reading through the messsages, saw one from John Lynch, hope you are well mate, thanks for your recent email and my love goes to your Alpaccas. I trust that you have got over your restraining order with working with livestock after that incident with the startled cow in Germany. Hello to Kelly Roberts too, been a long time, I know you are still heartbroken from 1978, but we do need to move on now. keep in touch and good to see some familiar faces back on the site, not the same old saddo's bleating on about the same old things, there, that should stir the cobwebs up a bit. John, send me those first class air tickets and I'll buy you that beer.

Hello everyone, my girlfriend, Maureen Kelly, stayed at WGS in Hamm from 1962 till 1964. Her brother, named Peter Kelly, also in the WBS. They lived in Hilden, their father was StaffSG at the Lancashire Regiment, the barracks also in Hilden (Germany) I was a german pupil. I´m looking for her since 1964, becauce I had a traffic accident and stayed a long time in a foreign hospital. When I came back to Hilden, she left with the whole family and regiment some days before. At this time I was 16 years old and had no chance to get any address. Maybe somebody knows something. Thanks a lot. Hopefully

Ian Turner.....Green Bay Packers? RAF Laarbruch? You lived two doors down from Jane Treeves. Your old man had a shaved head and was a wicked player of liar dice. I remember way too much from those days, including the time you and Ivan King were scribbling away frantically trying to beat the bell and noticing that Ivan was copying everything you wrote word for word. So you started writing a load of old tut which was duly copied.....wicked. Had me in stitches for months. Dave Coty was the elder, Richard the younger. He of the Bluebird toffees. Nice to see you finally caught up with the rest of the gang here, welcome.

I thought this information may be of interest to ex-WGS members.

On a recent visit with my band to Germany, thanks to a Hamm resident Christian Sommerhage I was given an article from Hamm daily newspaper "Westfälischer Anzeiger" containing an aerial picture of WGS as it is now and an artists impression of what it will look like in the very near future.

According to the article the site is being redeveloped to include 155 new homes as illustrated in the artist's impression below. Interestingly it appears as though they are going to retain the main buildings.

Hi to all ex members of hillsbrough house from 73-76 this is Bob George, some names that i still recall Sean Pegram, Molly Graham, John Gay, Bob McCormack, Ian Martin and Sean Cockcroft sorry if i have not mentioned anyone i should know its been such a long time. Who can remember
the hedge hopping at night, and the big fight with the German bikers outside school, what about the May bugs over the swimming pool and those blind dates with the girls on disco night with our glass of orange. Those were the days.

Don't know if this will be posted as my membership has lapsed (I really do intend to renew, ...honestly)here goes anyway. Just noticed Vince Fletcher's message, don't think you will remember me as I think I was a year or two below you, but I remember you and Pat clearly, I believe you were in the production of 'The Crucible' (as was my brother Jim). Pat and I were both in St. James'. Recognise a number of names from late 60's/early 70's but as others have said, we are not very well represented. Met a couple of people at reunions and kept in touch (Hi Sue Holt). Re your message Babs Lloyd I lived in Berlin and went to Gatow school prior to going to WGS, remember the train journies? Sue Churchfield (re your message Feb '01) I remember many of the people and believe we did share a dorm - does anyone have any photos? To those I have lost touch with for a second time, do respond, look forward to hearing from you.

Lynn Waller (StJ70-72)

I do remember the big fight on the back dyke although I think as with most things the story grew with time and transfer. I remember hiding bottles of corn whiskey behind the pipes in the cellar below Hillsborough/Caernarvon then racing back from supper to guzzle it before getting on the bus to go to the social at the Girls School, consequently was unable to stand and don't remember a lot about the social. Does anyone in the senior basketball team remember going to the big local sportshall for games/training and popping over to the pub across the road after. Question - does anyone remember the name of the sixth form girl with long straight black hair who used to come to the boys school on a minbus for lessons in 1976?

Hi again i feel like having gone back in a time warp looking at this site. Will there be a reunion for 2008, if there is i would like to sign up. Sean are you out there lost your number when i got married. Some other names that might jog a memory the Johnson sisters Jackie, Denise, and Madalene not sure if thats the correct spelling. Can anybody remember climbing onto the German building behind the school gym i think that it caught fire at one time. Been looking for odds and sods found a green cinema ticket that we had to buy to watch the weekend film and still have the Blazer badge in mint condition.

Bob George (H73-76)

Hi Vince Fletcher, good to see amessage from one of the Caernarvon heavies. Live in Suffolk. Married, 3 daughters and getting older. have lost touch with Smutt, perhaps he will read this and get in touch. Geezer I believe has recently retired fromteaching and in moving to Cornwall if he reads this I have not got his number he is welcome to contact. Have seen Gerry Bird at Twickenham, rugby of course. Noticed the occasional name from the past appearing. Intertesting fact that might make me a jeremiah with the Windsor Boys contingent it was my father based in Rheindalen that decommissioned both schools.

Hi Rob (sorry marra, can't get you used to Bob) Yup, I'm still here, the society just had a reunion as recently as June in Blackpool, so I reckon it'll be another couple of years before the next one. If you or anyone else for that matter is interested and dont live to far away, there's a little ExWindsors meet in Richmond, London on the 8th December (OMG! that's next week) starting at the White Cross Inn. It would be great to see you again, so much to talk about eh?
